Optional Equipment

1.
Integrated Touch Detect System
| Integration of a Touch Detector / Gap Elimination module provides a deterministic method for accurately finding the surface of the workpiece. This option monitors the high frequencies emitted from the grinding process in order to find the surface. The unit can be adjusted such that a minimal amount of material is removed from the workpiece during a touch cycle. The graphic on the right shows the data readout for a typical touch procedure; when the level of noise exceeds the touch threshold (dotted line) the machine immediately stops infeed. Several functions can then be performed, such as writing a value to a table or executing an axis move, etc.

2.
Preload Grind - Application Module
| This custom program module can be used in conjunction with the standard CNC interface to provide an easy to setup and execute a bearing preload grind cycle. Method of cut, gap elimination, and other elements of a preload grind cycle are entered and saved. Once these data are set, the user is given a simple interface from which the production grind cycles can be executed. This interface also allows continual process optimization. Wheel dressing / truing and chuck grinding are conveniently activated at the press of a button, and cycle time monitoring is built in.
